Cranham 26th July 2015

Thank you very much to all the riders who braved Sunday's appalling weather and still stayed smiling!

Thank you also to all the helpers who stayed out in the wind and the rain to ensure the ride ran as smoothly as possible.  The weather played havoc with the vet sheets resulting in the details have to be relayed to the Chief Vet Steward for recording on the dry sheets!

As stated in the ride details, the photographer for yesterday's Cranham Ride was Davis Saunders.  Despite the weather, he took some lovely photographs, showing just how skilled and experienced he is.

The photographs are available to view and buy from his web site at:

Thanks also go to Pioneer Herbal (who has been in business in the UK since 2002) for their support and free gift to all the riders.  Unfortunately the strong winds prevented him from setting up his stand so riders were not able to buy his hand made products. All their products are made from herbs and natural oils and conform to all ingredient and content regulations of DEFRA, FEI, RSPCA and HSE.

Their web site is:

Ride Report from 2008

Post 2014 Ride report from Organiser Carolyn:

Sunday’s ride was great success, enjoyed by almost 100 riders in glorious sunshine. From my point of view there were no major problems and my team of volunteers, Raynet and the TRF helped everything run very smoothly.

I was most grateful to all the landowners who allowed us to have every single gate open on the day, some of them taking the trouble to move sheep and cows so that we could do so. This was most appreciated by the riders and also by me, as I didn’t have to try to find volunteers to man gates on the day.

Being allowed to have the Trial Riders Fellowship mark most of the route this year made all the difference to the level of work I had to do, which is just as well, as I suffered from flu leading up to the event and wouldn’t have been well enough to mark the route on horseback this time. The TRF did a fantastic job putting up markers on Saturday, checking the route and opening the gates Sunday morning and then taking everything down by 6pm Sunday. My thanks go to all the landowners who kindly agreed to them having access to the route.

I’ve had many messages of thanks following the ride.  I thought it would be nice to present these below to illustrate just how much the riders enjoyed the lovely route and appreciated the goodwill of the landowners who allowed the ride to happen.

Kind Regards and many thanks

Carolyn

Well done to everyone involved with the ride - your help is clearly greatly appreciated by all these riders!
