Welcome to the Ludlow Ride Web Site

Dick and Judy Taylor are running the 2012 ride and are busy making all the necessary arrangements and sorting out a revised route.

Please Note! - this is a National ride (i.e. in the National Schedule in the EGB Handbook and on the Endurance GB website).

It is not a group Social or Training Ride.

Standard EGB ride entry fees apply and Group Associate Members are treated the same as Non-members (both are classed as temporary day members).

Group Associate Members and Non-members may only enter Class 20; the 30 km NCR (Non Competitive Ride).

We are pleased to announce that Dengie has agreed to be a sponsor for this ride and that all riders will receive a "Dengie Goody Bucket".  The Dengie logo now features on all the pages and just clicking on it will take you to the Dengie home page.  Please let Dengie know that you found them from this site as it will help demonstrate the value of sponsorship.

Ride Description

Two day ride, in Forestry Commission Land, National Trust and privately owned land.  The 2012 route will be based on the 2011 route which avoided the busy A49 road crossing.  This goes north from the racecourse and onto Wenlock Edge, and for the longer distances, almost as far as Much Wenlock.

As usual at Ludlow, riders and crews can make a weekend of it, and enjoy a drink in the bar and an evening meal in The Clive Pavilion (the big 'posh' building), the lounge area of which will be open throughout the two days.

Facilities at the venue:

Ludlow racecourse provides us with a fabulous venue, with camping, corralling, stabling all on site – available from mid-day Friday 15th to Monday 18th June. Catering will also be provided by Lesley Morgan as usual from 14:00 on Friday, including a meal on Saturday evening for a bargain £6.50 (TBC)  payable in advance. See ‘venue’ for full details.

There is a large food store with a café very close to the racecourse.  The popular historic town of Ludlow is a short drive from the venue, where there is a fine range of shops, public houses and restaurants, not to mention a good fish & chip shop.  The castle is also well worth a visit.

Helpers:

Camping is free to those who help on one day. If you are able to help, please let the Ride Organiser know ASAP, earliest volunteers get the best jobs!
