Ludlow Race Course

Facilities:

Ludlow racecourse has excellent facilities for stabling, corralling and camping. Water, toilets and showers are all available on site.

There are plenty of B&B establishments locally, as well as hotels.  Off-venue stabling is also available, if, for example, your horse’s flu vaccinations are not up to date, but it is up to the competitors to make their own booking arrangements away from the venue.  Details of nearby B&B accommodation is available through this link to the Shropshire Tourism web site.

Directions:

The venue is located at Ludlow Racecourse, Bromfield, Ludlow, Shropshire, SY8 2BT.  OS map 137, grid reference 777 137 and is situated just off the A49 main trunk road, approximately 2 miles north of Ludlow.

General information:

Camping in a lorry, trailer or tent at the venue is £5.00 per night per pitch paying in advance with your entry.  Camping is free to those who help on one day. If you are able to help, please let the Ride Organiser know ASAP, earliest volunteers get the best jobs!

Stabling will be charged at £30.00 (held at last year's price) whether it is for one night or the full duration of the event (that is, Friday to Sunday night inclusive). Stable bedding will be corrugated cardboard, as approved and supplied by the racecourse, unless you make alternative arrangements in advance with the Entries Secretary.

Flu Vaccination: Proof of up to date flu vaccinations is required on arrival at the venue, before entry to the stabling will be permitted.  This is only a requirement for on-venue stabling and is not compulsory for entering any of the riding classes.

***Copy of Flu-vac can be sent by post or via email in advance or produced when booking in on arrival. Access to stabling will be declined if no valid Flu-vac is produced prior to arrival or at booking in time. ***

Corralling will be allowed ONLY in the designated field, behind the stables, at a cost of £4.00 per 24 hours.  You must supply your own working electric fencing.  It is VITAL that the gate to the corralling field is always closed.  In 2007 a horse escaped and could easily have had a nasty accident on the railway or A49!

Catering is once again provided by Lesley Morgan, who has looked after us so well in the past.  One of her catering units will be at the venue from 14:00 on Friday 15th June until 17:00 on Sunday 17th June, being open very early until very late!  As usual, all Lesley's food is prepared and cooked on site from fresh produce.

On Saturday evening Lesley's team will provide a hot meal at £6.50 (TBC) per head.  Again, as the food is prepared and cooked on site from fresh produce you will have to order in advance. Please pay this with your ride entry and indicate your choice of lasagna/vegetarian lasagna or chicken curry/vegetable curry, with rice or chips or salad, followed by gateau or fresh fruit salad .
